NEET 2017 Counselling: All India Quota, Merit List, Dates, Procedure, AIR Required

CBSE will conduct the exam on May 7, 2017 across the nation and will declare the result and prepare an all-India rank list for the candidates. The Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi will then use this AIR for counselling of 15% all-India quota seats. Also providing the result to the state counselling authorities and admitting institutions.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct NEET 2017 counselling for allotment of MBBS and BDS seats under 15% All India Quota. Admissions in MBBS/BDS will be done on the basis of NEET Score with the help of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the ministry of health and family welfare. However, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, J&K and AIIMS, JIPMER Puducherry who were established through an Act of Parliament will not participate in NEET UG this year. Note that NEET All India Quota Counselling will start from the 3rd week of August and should be completed within last week of September 2017.

NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria :

  • Applicants must be an Indian Citizen or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India).
  • Candidates must have passed 12th class from recognized board with physics, chemistry and biology as subjects.
  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in 12th class.(40% marks in case of reserved category candidates)
  • Age limit is 17 to 25 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Age relaxation of 5 years will be provided to reserved category candidates as per government rules.

NEET 2017 Counselling Documents Required :-

  • 10th & 12th Marksheets and Passing Certificate.
  • Birth certificate.
  • NEET 2017 admit card and Rank card.
  • A pair of passport size photograph same as their on your application form.
  • PWD certificate (If applicable)
  • Caste Certificate (If applicable)
  • NEET Counselling letter.

Applicants should be ready with valid e-mail id, scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression, e-challan etc. before applying online for NEET 2017. Candidates can apply for NEET via online mode.



NEET All India Quota Counselling Schedule : Dates and Counselling Process

NEET 2017 Counselling process  for qualified candidates to start from July 3rd, 2017. The counselling for AIQ Seats (15% in each medical institution) for MBBS 2017-18 will be conducted by the DGHS while State Counselling for the rest of the seats i.e. 85% in government and private medical institutions will be undertaken by the state government or the education authority appointed by the state government. Counselling will be processed in two phases indicating that the seat allotment will happen twice. The state level counselling will be held individually by the state authorized committee. Candidates, whose name will come under merit list, will be eligible for NEET Counselling. Candidates will be allotted seats in counselling on the basis of rank obtained in the entrance test, choice of course, reservation of seats, availability of seats. The schedule and place of counselling is soon to be uploaded on the official website and will be made available here as PDF.
