There is only 1 MBBS College in Sikkim, which is affilated to Sikkim Manipal University. Students started to take admission from 2001. The institution was initially recognized for having 50 seats. Later on, it was increased to 100. Additionally, there will be an increase in seats from 100 to 150 for the 2021-22 academic year.
Sikkim MBBS Admission 2024: Admissions to Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences will be granted based on the NEET merit list conducted by NTA. To be eligible for admission to MBBS course, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% mark and 45% (for PwD) / 40% (for SC/ST/OBC).
