Bihar MBBS Admission 2026 – Exam, Colleges, Fee

Bihar does not conduct a separate MBBS entrance exam. All admissions are based on the national-level entrance test called NEET. A large number of candidates appear for this exam every year.

Here’s how it works: you receive an All India Rank (AIR) and a state rank. Candidates with Bihar domicile are eligible for the state quota, which is 85% of the total seats in the state’s colleges. In Bihar, there are over 2,500 government MBBS seats, so more than 2,100 are filled by Bihar-domiciled candidates.

So, to get a seat in Bihar, you need to score well in NEET and then attend counselling. I suggest participating in both the state-level counselling and the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling. You’ll likely have a higher chance of getting a seat through the state counselling, but AIQ counselling gives you the opportunity to secure a seat in other parts of India.

Bihar MBBS Admission 2026 is based on NEET 2026, followed by counselling. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is responsible for conducting counselling once NEET results are declared. This article explains NEET eligibility, BCECEB counselling steps, the college list, fee ranges, and the seat matrix.

Bihar is a state in eastern India, bordering Nepal. The state has a number of options for medical colleges, with about 21 MBBS colleges. Together, they offer 2,545 government MBBS seats and 1,200 private MBBS seats.

bihar mbbs admission

Bihar’s medical system is a bit different from other states. In private colleges, the first 50% of seats are charged at the same fee as government colleges. That’s very good news for candidates who aren’t able to get a government seat but manage to secure a private seat in the first round of counselling. For complete details, check all the tabs above like counselling, fee structure, seat matrix, contact information, and FAQs.
