Here is the updated list of medical colleges in Nagaland and the total MBBS seats available for the 2025-26 session. The Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR), Kohima, is the first and only government medical college in the state. It functions under the administrative control of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Nagaland, and plays a major role in medical education and healthcare development in the region.
Until recently, Nagaland did not have any medical college, and students had to move to other states to pursue MBBS. But with the establishment of NIMSR, that gap is finally being bridged. NEET-qualified candidates from Nagaland can now apply for MBBS admission within their home state.
List of Medical Colleges in Nagaland
Currently, Nagaland offers 100 MBBS seats through NIMSR Kohima, a fully government-run institution. Admissions are granted based on NEET UG scores, and counselling is carried out under the supervision of the state authorities.

Out of these 100 seats, 15% are reserved under the All India Quota (AIQ), and the remaining 85% are allotted through state quota counselling for Nagaland domicile candidates.
