Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counseling 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria set by the universities to which they are applying for admission to MBBS before applying for the counselling process.

  • Candidates should be 17 years of age at the time of admission.
  • Candidates should be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates should be natives of Tamil Nadu and submit their nativity certificate to the counselling committee.
  • Students who are naive of Tamil Nadu and have studied 6th to 12th in schools of Tamil Nadu should submit nativity and community certificates.
  • Candidates who pursued their education in Tamil Nadu but failed to produce the certificates requested are considered open-category students.
  • Candidates are shortlisted for the TN MBBS counselling based on the merit list prepared by the National Testing Agency of NEET 2024.
  • Candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) in the academic year to be eligible for MBBS/BDS admission.

Students whose names were on the merit list released by the TN MBBS selection committee should follow the process below to register for counselling and get admission.

  • You must make the security deposit according to your quota. Government students must pay Rs.30,000/—, and management students must pay Rs.1,00,000/—.
  • Students can participate in the first round of counselling and lock in their choice of seats and options as per their eligibility norms.
  • The seats will be allotted for the students after the first round of counselling. Students must pay the tuition fee, report to the allotted college, and complete the admission formalities.
  • Students can head for round 2 of counselling in case they have resigned/not joined and choose free-Exit.

  • Otherwise, students can appear for the stray round. In this round, students can finally opt for a college and pay the tuition fee before reporting to the allotted college.
