State proof and management seats follow different clauses
AMRU’s 2026–27 prospectus sets different entry conditions for state and management seats. One state-quota route covers bonafide Himachalis or their children who passed at least two of the school exams in the list in Himachal Pradesh. The prospectus also gives exceptions, so read the complete clause for your family.
For management seats at private unaided medical and dental colleges, the prospectus does not require bonafide Himachali status. It still requires the NEET, school and age conditions. Source: AMRU’s 2026 prospectus, Section IV. The 2026 addendum names the forms needed for two exemption claims.
The NMC list has six government colleges and one private college. Chamba’s row shows 121 places; the other five government entries each show 120. MM Medical College, Solan has 150. Do not round Chamba down when comparing these totals.
A Shimla, Tanda or Chamba choice also needs a practical travel plan. Ask about the hostel and hospital route before booking. Keep the exact state or management eligibility papers with your fee sheet, read the bond form, and follow the joining steps for the allotted campus.
Questions for your Himachal Pradesh shortlist
For a hill-campus visit, check the reporting desk and its hours before booking a bus or hotel. Ask whether you need a second visit for a pending paper. Include both trips in the budget for Shimla, Tanda or Chamba.
