Chandigarh MBBS Counselling 2025 – GMCH Medical Admission

Chandigarh MBBS Counselling: Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh has released the Chandigarh Medical Counselling notification for MBBS, BDS, and BHMS courses for the academic session 2025–26. This post provides key highlights and admission details from the official prospectus to help aspirants clearly understand the process. Admission to all courses – MBBS, BDS, and BHMS – is based on NEET UG 2025 scores. Only online applications are accepted, and no printed forms are available.

There are 3 institutions under centralized counselling in Chandigarh:

  • MBBS: 150 Seats
  • BDS: 100 Seats

Application Fee:- General / PwD (Gen): ₹2,000, SC / PwD (SC): ₹1,000, NRI/OCI: ₹14,000 + bank charges.

Out of 150 MBBS seats:

  • All India Quota: 15% (23 seats)
  • Central Pool Quota: 3 seats
  • Foreign Indian Student: 9 seats
  • UT Chandigarh Pool: 115 seats
  •  SC Category: 17
  •  General: 98 (includes 6 PwD seats under horizontal reservation)

Eligibility for UT Chandigarh Pool (MBBS)

Candidate must fulfill one of the following:

1. Completed Class 10, 11, and 12 from a recognized school in Chandigarh.
2. Parent is a resident of Chandigarh for the last 5 years.
3. Parent is a government employee (Central/State/UT) posted in Chandigarh for 3 years.
4. Wards of defence personnel with Chandigarh as permanent address.
5. OCI card holders (issued before 04 March 2021) meeting above criteria.

Note: Candidates claiming domicile in any other state are not eligible for UT Chandigarh pool seats.

Eligibility for BDS (Dr. Harvansh Singh Dental Institute)

There is no UT pool for BDS admission. All 100 seats are open for All India candidates.

Reservation includes:
– SC: 12 seats
– ST: 6 seats
– BC: 4 seats
– Gen: 56 seats (3 for PwD)
– NRI/International: 15 seats
– Central Pool: 5 seats
– Hoshiarpur (Jaj community): 2 seats

BHMS Admission: BHMS is offered by Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, a private institute in Chandigarh. Admission is based on NEET UG 2025 scores and centralized counselling.

Chandigarh Medical Counselling Process 2025

  • Candidates must bring original documents and separate printouts of application forms for each course.
  • No digital or Digilocker certificates are accepted.
  • First, PwD seats are filled, followed by General and then SC category.
  • No separate counselling call letter will be issued — eligible students must attend counselling as per schedule.

  • Undertaking/Affidavit stating the candidate has not claimed residence in any other State/UT after NEET result (Appendix A5)
