Odisha has more than a thousand government MBBS seats. To be exact, there are 2025 government and 500 private seats. MKCG and SCB Medical institutes have the highest number of seats, 250. Every year, 30,000 to 40,000 candidates from the state appear in the NEET examination. Candidates who qualify must attend the NEET counselling to complete the admission process. Usually, the qualifying percentage remains 60-65%. 
Among total seats, there are some seats about 15% are reserved for AIQ candidates. So competition will not be easy. Just qualifying for the exam is not enough. You need to score high on the NEET 2024. The more marks you score, the lower your rank will be, and your chances of getting a government medical seat will increase. Government seats are preferred because of their low cost, experienced staff, etc. The fee structure of government colleges is between 23000 and 40000 Rupees, which is way less than private colleges.
