Karnataka medical choices need the right KEA entry code and seat type. Before entering options, check your verified details and the fee attached to each choice. Two seats at one college can have different entry rules and costs.
Karnataka NEET UG 2026 update (22 October): KEA is running a stray vacancy round for the 664 MBBS seats left after Round 3. KEA also allowed candidates who do not hold a seat to take part. Option entry closed at 1 PM on 19 October, after an extension. Watch the KEA website for the result. If you get a seat, pay the fee and report by the deadline KEA gives.
Read the KEA seat code with the fee
KEA publishes the UG NEET process for Karnataka state counselling. Government, private, minority and NRI-related seat categories need their own checks under the current rules. Do not treat all seats at a private campus as one pool.
Use the entry clause that fits your education and residence history. Prepare the records it requires, and check that your verified details support the options you want to enter.
Option entry is a preference list
An option is a named course and seat at a college. Rank suitable options in the order you would choose them. Before saving, read the seat code and fee for every option; a familiar college name can hide a different fee category.
Check the current round’s instructions for accepting a seat, seeking a change or leaving the process. A decision used in an earlier round may have a different effect later.

Research the Karnataka campus before choices
Use the Karnataka college list for the dated intake and campus checks. For KMC, check the city on the choice screen before saving it. Ask each campus where first-year students stay and how they reach class. Keep its fee sheet with that campus code, so the two KMC bills do not get mixed.
For Bengaluru, Manipal or Mangalore, price the hostel and hospital commute for that campus. Use the full-cost comparison to add each fee period. Once a seat is allotted, follow the joining checklist and the route’s current acceptance rules.
Disability (PwBD) seats: for All India Quota seats through MCC, your disability certificate must come from one of MCC’s designated centres. See our list of NEET PwBD certificate centres. For state quota seats, follow the certificate rule in the state’s own notice.
Keep the round record with the college plan
Before saving KEA options, read the course and seat code again. Put the fee and verified eligibility clause beside each code. For a KMC deemed option, follow the MCC route instead. Keep the submitted options and the later acceptance record.
