NTA will be conducting NEET UG 2026. As always, the NEET entrance exam will be held for students interested in pursuing undergraduate medical courses (MBBS/BDS). NTA is authorized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to conduct this exam across India. NEET replaced AIPMT in 2016. This article will be detailed, as it covers all major frequently asked questions about NEET.

NEET is conducted every year for admission to 645 medical, 318 dental, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc & AH colleges. The responsibility of NTA is limited to inviting online applications, conducting the entrance test, declaring the results, and providing the rank list to the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

 

NEET UG 2026 Application form

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will invite candidates to fill out online applications for NEET (UG) 2026 for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions across India. A large number of candidates appear for this examination every year. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is not only applicable for MBBS/BDS admissions but is also required for disciplines like BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS.

Aspirants of the Military Nursing Service (MNS) seeking admission to the BSc Nursing course conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals in 2026 must also qualify NEET. The NEET scorecard is widely used across various medical sectors in India.

The Online Application Form submission may be made by accessing the NTA website neet.nta.nic.in. NTA does not accept any other mode of application form.

NEET UG 2026 Exam Pattern

NEET is a pen-and-paper-based Test. The Entrance Test shall consist of 200 multiple-choice questions. You will get 4 choices, and one will be the correct answer. You will get 50 questions from each subject, i.e., Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

The examination will be 200 minutes, which is 20 minutes, more than 3 hours. NEET (UG)—2026 is expected to be held in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

NEET UG Exam Date

There is no official notification about the exam date. It will probably be held on the first Sunday of May i.e. 3 May 2026.

NEET UG 2026 Syllabus

There are some changes to the syllabus of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for this year. For the Academic year 2026-27, the UG Medical Education Board will soon finalized the NEET (UG) 2026 syllabus. The candidates are suggested to prepare for NEET as per the new syllabus. It will be soon published online and will share a link here.

NEET Mock Test Papers 2026

NTA published both mock test papers and the previous year’s papers for candidates appearing in the 2026-27 session. Candidates must download the whole zip file from the NTA official website for mock test papers. But for previous years’ papers, you can filter out online and then download the paper you need.
