All NEET undergraduate (MBBS/BDS) aspirants from Tripura can check the available medical seats in the state before registering for the counselling process. Tripura is a small and beautiful northeastern state in India. Despite its small population, a large number of candidates from Tripura appear for NEET every year.
Admission to MBBS Course in Tripura: Like other states of India, Tripura MBBS seats are filled by NEET score. Counselling is conducted after the result is declared. Candidates fill up their choices and lock them. NEET UG merit list is released to the public with details like name, roll number, score, rank, and category.

MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and BASLP seats in different institutions are distributed as per merit and seat matrix. Both domicile candidates (state quota seats) and all India candidates (20 MBBS seats at TMC) need to register themselves for Tripura State UG counseling.
The Directorate of Medical Education, Tripura, is responsible for combined counseling for admission in MBBS, BDS, PG Seats of State Quota and different Paramedical Courses. The major function of DME is Medical Education in the state, which includes monitoring Pharmacy Colleges and nursing colleges. Two colleges in Tripura teach MBBS. Both are located in Agartala.
Government MBBS Colleges in Tripura
Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) opened in 2005 and ranks among the top government medical colleges in Tripura. Last year, Tripura students filled 96 out of 125 MBBS seats, highlighting strong local representation.
The college maintains high academic standards and enforces a strict attendance policy. To appear for semester exams, students must attend at least 75% of theory classes and 80% of practical/clinical sessions. The college also requires students to wear uniforms and sports dress during class hours.

Private MBBS Colleges in Tripura
Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital are located in Hapania. Initially, it functioned solely as a hospital, but later the government decided to establish a medical college alongside it. The hospital has a capacity of 300 beds, while the MBBS program admits 100 students annually.
To support the establishment of the college, the State Government allotted 25 acres of land to GENET and granted permission to use the existing state hospital as the official teaching hospital for the medical college.
