Nativity category changes the seats you can claim

KEAM 2026 has three groups: Keralite, Non-Keralite I and Non-Keralite II. Non-Keralite I has several routes. These include the stated Kerala school or residence rules. This group can claim State Merit seats. It cannot claim the listed communal, special or disability benefits.

Non-Keralite II is not eligible for medical seats in government colleges under that clause. A separate rule covers 15% of MBBS places in self-financing colleges. These places have no domicile limit. Amrita Kochi is a separate MCC deemed-university choice. Do not assume that a CEE application enters you for every private college shown below. The deemed guide explains that route. The AYUSH degree-holder guide covers another specific Kerala category.

Prepare the nativity and category papers before making choices. For a Kochi, Kozhikode or other campus, add hostel and hospital travel to the fee comparison. Read the joining terms and follow the reporting checklist after allotment.

Questions for your Kerala shortlist
