Local colleges and state nominations are not the same menu
The NMC snapshot has three local entries: NEIGRIHMS Shillong with 50 places, Shillong Medical College with 50 and PA Sangma’s private campus with 150. Their combined local intake is 250. Their seat routes and fee schedules need separate checks.
Meghalaya Health’s 2026 notices cover screening for state-quota destinations and Shillong Medical College. A state nomination can concern a college outside Meghalaya, so the local table cannot show every destination on the state menu. Start with Meghalaya Health’s official notices and the notice for your category.
For a NEIGRIHMS choice, match the institution and quota with the authority’s current options. Do not assume that every place in its total uses the same eligibility clause. Keep the local campus name, destination state and seat category in your notes before comparing past ranks.
An outside-state nomination needs a budget for the receiving college’s hostel, food and travel. Use the seat labels guide, collect the category records and retain both nomination and college joining proof. These records show different stages of admission.
Questions for your Meghalaya shortlist
For a Meghalaya nomination, write the receiving college’s full name and state. If the campus is in Shillong, still check the exact institution. Ask where to report and what to pay there; the nomination list may not give the whole bill.
