Got an allotment? Open your candidate login and check the college, course, quota and reporting window. Then list the steps you need to finish and save proof of each one.
This guide covers MCC UG 2026. For a state allotment, follow your state counselling authority’s instructions.
Keep payments and login details safe: use payment instructions from the official college website or joining notice. Keep your password and OTP private.

Step 1: Check your allotment details
Check the final result and the allotment details in your login. Confirm the college, course, quota and category. Save your allotment letter when it becomes available.
Note the Nodal Officer’s contact details. This officer helps with joining questions. MCC’s candidate guide shows the details in your allotment record.
If something looks wrong, describe the exact issue through the official support channel. Include your round and application details so the officer can find your record.
Step 2: Choose Freeze or Float carefully
In Rounds 1 and 2, your choice decides the reporting route:
| Your choice | What it means | Reporting route |
|---|---|---|
| Freeze | You keep the allotted seat without seeking an upgrade in the next round. | Physical reporting and document checks at the college. |
| Float | You seek an upgrade in the next round. | Online document checks by the allotted college. |
Both Freeze and Float candidates must upload the needed scans to MCC’s portal. Do this within the reporting period. Physical reporting does not replace the upload.
Physical reporting is required after Round 3. This covers Round 3 allottees and earlier Float candidates who keep their seat without an upgrade. Use the current round notice for the dates.
The portal calls this choice “willingness for upgradation.” MCC’s candidate guide says you can submit it only once and cannot change it afterwards. If you receive an upgrade, the new seat replaces your earlier allotment.
Read our MCC counselling rounds guide before making the choice.
A college example: Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi
Amrita’s joining instructions follow the Freeze/Float split. In Rounds 1 and 2, Freeze candidates report physically, while Float candidates complete online document checks. Its page says only Freeze candidates pay institute fees in those rounds.
The listed joining in person venue is Nalanda Building, ninth floor, MEU, with reporting from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The college also tells candidates to pay the required first-year fees without deducting their MCC deposit. Check its current appointment and round instructions before travelling or paying.
Use this as an example of how to read a joining notice. For your own college, confirm the venue, hours, documents and fees from its current instructions.
Step 3: Make a deadline sheet
Fill in the actual date and time from your notices. Different tasks may close at different times.
| Action | Your deadline | Proof to save |
|---|---|---|
| Submit Freeze/Float choice | __________ | Submission record |
| Upload required documents | __________ | Upload confirmation and files |
| Answer a document query | __________ | Corrected file and response |
| Pay fees required at this stage | __________ | Receipt or official payment confirmation |
| Report physically, if required | __________ | Joining acknowledgement |
For a physical visit, check travel time and the admission desk’s hours.
Start papers that need another office or an appointment early. A medical fitness certificate, for example, may need a college-specific form. Check the required format before arranging it.
Step 4: Check upload, verification and joining separately
Think of these as three stages:
- Upload: you send the required files.
- Verification: the officer checks them.
- Joining: you finish the admission steps and receive the relevant record.
Check the status in your login after each action. MCC’s guide explains that documents corrected after a query return for another check. Sending a replacement file is therefore a step toward resolving the query; check the updated status too.
Read the officer’s full remark before responding:
- For a blurred scan, send a clear copy with every page visible.
- For a wrong format, obtain the required version.
- For a missing document, check exactly which record is requested.

Step 5: Pay from official instructions
Read the fee notice for your college, batch and quota. Check how much to pay now and how to pay it.
Save the transaction reference, amount, date and bank confirmation. Also keep the college’s receipt or official payment confirmation.
If your bank shows a debit but the college still shows an unpaid amount, contact the support team listed in the notice. Give them the transaction details and ask how to resolve it before making another payment.
Keep the MCC deposit record separate from your college fee records.
Keep MCC payments separate from college fees. The MCC fee and deposit refund guide explains which payment to track if a refund is due.
Step 6: Check your folder before you finish
Your folder should contain the records that apply to your reporting stage:
- Allotment letter
- Freeze/Float submission record
- Uploaded documents and verification status
- Required payment receipts or confirmations
- Joining or admission acknowledgement, when issued
- Any written instructions for pending steps
If a record is missing, ask what you still need to do. Write the next step and deadline on your sheet.
Keep checking your login during the reporting window, especially after replying to a document query.
Before signing the college forms, use the MBBS bond checklist to identify service duties and charges for leaving the course.
For national counselling, read the MCC counselling guide alongside the notice for your current round.
Frequently asked questions
Work to the published deadline unless an official notice gives you an extension that applies to your round and situation. Keep proof of your query and continue the other steps you can complete.
Keep your joining acknowledgement, payment receipts and any written list of pending tasks. Before leaving, ask the admission desk which record confirms that your reporting stage is complete.
