The Rajasthan NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission/Counselling Board 2026 runs Rajasthan MBBS counselling. The State Government sets up this Board. Principals of the state’s medical and dental colleges make it up.
It fills state seats in government, government society (RajMES), RUHS, ESIC and private colleges. MCC, on the other hand, fills the 15% All India Quota seats, AIIMS Jodhpur and deemed universities.
Rajasthan NEET UG 2026 update (20 October): The official NEET UG Medical/Dental Counselling 2026 portal lists three new items. These are a stray-vacancy schedule dated 15 October and a vacant-seat matrix dated 17 October. The third is a set of instructions for bond and document verification on 18–20 October.
If you are eligible for the stray round, check the portal for the final choice-filling, deposit and reporting deadlines. Do not rely on an earlier round’s timetable. Also, do not add a private or management seat until you know its total fee and bond.
Who runs Rajasthan MBBS counselling
| Seats | Counselling authority |
|---|---|
| State government, management and NRI seats | Rajasthan NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission/Counselling Board |
| Private medical college seats | Same Board |
| 15% All India Quota, AIIMS Jodhpur, deemed universities | MCC |
You register separately for each process. For example, an MCC registration does not count for the Rajasthan Board. Likewise, a Rajasthan registration does not create an MCC application. Our MCC counselling guide covers the national route. For the full list of colleges, see government MBBS colleges in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan stray vacancy round 2026
The Stray Vacancy Round is the last round of Rajasthan state quota MBBS admission for 2026. The 2026 bulletin lists no separate mop-up round. Here are the rules:
- The Board has deleted all choices from Rounds 1 to 3. That means you must fill fresh choices.
- First, the Board must verify your documents and bond. Then you pay the security deposit and fill choices.
- If you joined a seat in MCC Round 3, or through any other counselling, you cannot take part.
- If the Board allotted or upgraded you in Round 3 and you did not join, you cannot take part.
- If you do not join a stray round seat, you lose your security deposit. The bond penalty also applies.
- Once you join, you cannot resign before the last admission date set by MCC, NMC or DCI. Also, the college keeps your original documents.
Important: Fill only seats you will join and can pay for. There is no later round to fix a wrong choice.

Seat types and quotas in Rajasthan
- Government seats: These are in government medical colleges, RajMES colleges, RUHS College of Medical Sciences and ESIC Medical College. They carry the lowest fees.
- Management seats: These are in government society colleges and private colleges. The Board fills them on NEET merit too. As a result, there is no direct admission.
- NRI seats: You need a parent, or a close relative named in the rules, living abroad as an NRI. No caste reservation applies to NRI seats.
- Special quotas: Wards of defence and para-military staff get 1% of seats. Also, the Central Government fills 24 MBBS seats, four in each of six state government colleges.
For state seats, the bulletin sets these reservations: SC 16%, ST 12%, OBC-NCL 21%, MBC-NCL 5% and EWS 10%. Within ST, 45% of seats go to ST candidates from the scheduled area (ST-STA). Women get at least 25% in each category, and PwBD candidates get 5%. However, these reservations apply only to Rajasthan domicile candidates.
Who can apply
First, you must qualify NEET UG 2026. For General and EWS, the cut-off is the 50th percentile (213 marks). For General PwBD, it is the 45th percentile (194). For SC, ST, OBC, MBC and their PwBD candidates, it is the 40th percentile (177). The Board also sets these conditions:
- You must turn 17 by 31 December 2026. There is no upper age limit.
- You must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English.
- You must pass theory and practical separately.
- You must fit one of the Board’s eligibility clauses, I to XI.
Rajasthan domicile rules for NEET
Rajasthan uses eleven clauses. Clauses I to X cover all seat types from Round 1. Clause XI (“Other”) covers everyone else.
Clause I is the most common one. First, your natural father or mother must have lived in Rajasthan for the last 10 years without a break. Second, you must have studied at least 5 of those years in a recognised Rajasthan institution. Clause II covers bona fide Rajasthan residents who study in another state.
Clauses III to X cover children of certain employees, such as Rajasthan government, defence and para-military staff. Clause X covers children of Rajasthan High Court judges. Each clause has its own conditions, so read yours in the bulletin.
| Your situation | What to check |
|---|---|
| Parent lived in Rajasthan for 10 years; you studied 5 of those years there | Clause I and your domicile certificate |
| Rajasthan resident; Class 11 and 12 in another state | Clause II proof of bona fide residence |
| Parent works for the Rajasthan government, a state undertaking or a state university | Clauses III to V and the employer certificate |
| Parent serves in defence or para-military | Clauses VI to IX and the service certificate |
| None of the above | Clause XI: vacant seats only, during or after Round 3 |
Worked example. Riya’s family moved from Delhi to Jaipur 6 years ago. Clause I does not cover her, because her parents have not lived there for 10 years. If no other clause fits, she falls under Clause XI. As a result, she gets only seats left after the state merit list runs out. She also gets no state reservation. However, if Riya had NRI eligibility, the Board would consider her for NRI seats in all rounds.
Our guide on state quota counselling explains how to read such rules.
Category and special documents
- OBC-NCL and MBC-NCL: Use a Rajasthan certificate that clearly says “Non Creamy Layer”. It must be valid for 2026–27.
- SC and ST: Use a valid Rajasthan certificate. The bulletin gives the exact format.
- EWS: Get an EWS certificate issued for 2026–27.
- Domicile: Keep the certificate that matches your eligibility clause.
- Defence, para-military and NRI: The Board checks these papers separately, at the time and place in its notice.
Also check the date on each certificate. An outdated one can cost you the seat.
How registration works
- Open the registration link on the official Rajasthan counselling portal.
- Fill Part 1 and Part 2 of the form. Both are compulsory, and you can submit only once.
- Pay the non-refundable registration fee.
- Upload your category and eligibility certificates.
- Then pay the security deposit for the seat type you want.
- Fill and lock your choices.
Your seat stays provisional until the Board checks your original documents.
Choice filling for Rajasthan state quota MBBS admission
First, list every college and seat type you would accept. For each one, note the fee, bond and past closing rank.
Worked example. Suppose you prefer College A, a government college, to College B, a RajMES college. College C is private, and your family can afford it only with a loan. Your list could then be:
- College A, government seat.
- College B, government seat.
- College B, management seat, only if you can pay it.
- College C, only if you can pay the full course fee.
Also, your deposit decides which seats you can fill. A ₹50,000 deposit covers government seats only. For management or private seats, you must pay the higher deposit. If you paid a deposit in an earlier round, you pay only the difference. Finally, check every entry, save your choices and keep a copy.
Rounds, deposits and exit rules
Rajasthan runs three rounds and a Stray Vacancy Round. MCC’s rules do not apply here.
| Round | What happens if you take or leave a seat |
|---|---|
| Round 1 | Free exit. If you do not join, you keep your deposit. |
| Round 2 | If you do not join, you lose your deposit and must register again to continue. If you are not upgraded, you can resign within 2 days of the result. |
| Round 3 | If you join, you cannot upgrade or resign. If you do not join, you lose your deposit and cannot enter the stray round. |
| Stray round | If you do not join, you lose your deposit and the bond applies. If you join, you cannot resign. |
Upgrades are possible in Rounds 2 and 3, but only with fresh choices. Also, you lose your deposit if the Board cancels your admission for wrong information. Our counselling rounds guide explains how upgrades work in general.
How MCC and Rajasthan counselling affect each other
The Centre and the State share data on joined candidates. So, if you join an MCC seat in Round 3, the Board removes you from the stray round. You cannot hold two seats at once. Our seat matrix guide explains why seats open up as students move between the two systems.
Rajasthan MBBS fees and deposits
The registration fee is ₹2,500 for UR, General-EWS and non-domicile candidates. For Rajasthan domicile SC, ST and ST-STA candidates, it is ₹1,500. Transaction charges are extra.
| Seat type | Security deposit |
|---|---|
| Government seat (government, RajMES, RUHS CMS, ESIC) | ₹50,000 |
| Management seat in a RajMES (government society) college | ₹2,00,000 |
| NRI seat in a RajMES college | ₹5,00,000 |
| Any MBBS seat in a private college | ₹5,00,000 |
| BDS only (government or private) | ₹10,000 |
If you join, the Board adjusts the deposit against your tuition fee. At joining, you pay one year’s tuition online.
The bulletin does not list tuition amounts. Instead, the Board publishes college fees on the counselling website. Check that page and each college’s website. Then ask the college in writing for:
- tuition for each year;
- hostel, mess and other charges;
- deposits and when you get them back.
Management and NRI fees are far higher than government fees.
Before you lock a seat type: The deposit you pay for choice filling is not the full cost. Compare it with the real first-year tuition and the bond you sign on joining day. Use the latest government and private vacancy matrix, not an older seat count. Skip any seat type your family cannot pay for.
MBBS bond in Rajasthan
Read the bond before choice filling.
| Seat | Bond rule |
|---|---|
| Government MBBS seat | ₹10 lakh bond. You must finish the course and serve the State Government for 2 years. |
| Government dental (RUHS CDS) | ₹4 lakh bond plus a ₹1 lakh bank guarantee |
| Management and NRI seats | Pay the fees for all remaining semesters if you leave the course |
| Private colleges | A bond or bank guarantee may apply, as each college decides |
You submit the bond during document verification. Our MBBS bond checklist lists the clauses to read.
After allotment
- Check the college, course and seat type on the allotment letter.
- Pay one year’s tuition online early. Then a failed payment will not cost you the seat.
- Print the allotment letter and your application form.
- Report at the college’s desk in the Academic Block, SMS Medical College, Jaipur, with your original documents.
- Then join the college before its deadline.
Our reporting checklist helps with the joining stage.
Common questions
No. Management and NRI seats also go through Rajasthan MBBS counselling on NEET merit.
Yes, but only in a limited way. Under Clause XI, they get vacant seats only after the state merit list runs out. They also get no state reservation. NRI seats are the exception.
It is ₹50,000 for government seats and ₹2 lakh for RajMES management seats. For RajMES NRI seats and private college seats, it is ₹5 lakh.
No. Round 1 is a free exit round. From Round 2 onwards, however, not joining an allotted seat costs you the deposit.
The bond is ₹10 lakh. You must finish the course and then serve the State Government for 2 years.
Mostly, candidates with no seat after Round 3 can apply. However, you cannot apply if you joined an MCC Round 3 seat. You also cannot apply if you got a Rajasthan Round 3 seat and did not join.
