For a NEET PwBD seat, get the required Eligibility Certificate from a designated Medical Assessment Board. Choose a board that can assess your condition. Ask how to book and which papers to bring before you travel.
PwBD means persons with benchmark disabilities. MCC’s 2026 bulletin lists 66 primary boards in Annexure 1, followed by separate boards for appeals.
What does the board assess?
The board checks your ability to meet the MBBS course requirements. It also checks what support you need to study and train. This may include aids or changes to how tasks are done.
A disability percentage or UDID card alone does not decide MBBS eligibility. UDID means Unique Disability Identity. Bring the records the board asks for. Get its Eligibility Certificate.
Boards with stated assessment limits
These limits are from Annexure 1 of MCC’s 2026 bulletin. For example, AIIPMR in Mumbai assesses locomotor disability only. Confirm that the centre you choose can assess your condition.

The annexure names these boards. Ask the centre which tests it offers. Check how to book and what to bring. Check the centre’s scope before choosing it. The nearest hospital may not offer the test you need.
Before booking travel
- Ask whether the board assesses your type of disability.
- Confirm the appointment date, place and booking process.
- Ask which records, tests and assistive devices are needed.
- Check the counselling deadline as well as the appointment date.
- Allow time for extra tests or a correction if the board asks for one.
Keep your papers together
Follow the board’s current checklist. It may ask for ID, NEET records and proof of disability. Bring earlier reports and test results too. Carry originals and the copies it requires.

If the primary board finds you ineligible
MCC’s bulletin gives an appeal process. It lists five appeal boards: VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi; Grant Government Medical College and Sir JJ hospitals in Mumbai; BHU; Madras Medical College; and IPGMER in Kolkata.

Assessment and admission are separate steps
